Balázs Hetényi is a theoretical physicist with interests in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics. He holds a Ph. D. degree from Columbia University (chemical physics) and has authored about 40 original research papers. He has worked at a number of universities and research institutions in a number of different countries, and has taught pretty much all fundamental physics courses. He started out in chemistry (was a post-doc at Princeton University chemistry department) but his curiosity drove him progressively towards theoretical physics. Outside of work he spends time with his family. He is very happy to spend afternoons immersed in physics, mathematics, or philosophy books in the company of a caffe latte.
